Colour Discs
15.12 –

The paint skins discs are residue of a process I use to create my skin paintings. The buckets are modest tools that aid me to pour the medium onto surfaces I use to dry the paint.

There is a constant consideration and economy of material which has evolved a particular way of thinking and approach toward material within my production process. The paint residue within the bucket has become a source and avenue for the production of two distinct series of works, the Dot Paintings and thin paint skin works.

My palette is simply based on a domestic colour chart typically found in your local hardware store. The paint skin discs capture a specific period in time and evidence of the production of these particular paintings. For me it represents a quintessential contemporary colour palette. – HS
